Owings Mills, MD (November 29, 2005) – Debbie Nazelrod has learned many valuable insights to fine tune what she refers to as the "ahh experience," from operating Spa on the Avenue and Spa at the Crossing - among others - and she has incorporated much of this knowledge into the design of her latest venture, Spa in the Valley. The 10,600 facility which is nearly equal part hair salon and day spa, recently opened at Hunt Valley Towne Centre. The store is positioned on the first level of the 980,000 square foot lifestyle center in Hunt Valley.
"Most importantly, women and men just want to be pampered and yearn to get away from their hectic life style for a while," stated Debbie Nazelrod. "We have created a multi-sensory environment that soothes the senses using a combination of the perfect lighting, tranquil music and special aromas. The result is a setting that reminds you of a European oasis right in your backyard."
Customers can visit the hair salon for a cut and blow dry, or choose from more specialized services with employees mastering in hair extensions, multi-dimensional highlites and permanent hair straighteners. For those that enter the day spa, an entirely different world awaits them.
Fourteen different treatment rooms offer a variety of services from an ultimate foot massage to a soothing hot stone body massage. A ninety-minute Deluxe European Facial can be had or maybe this is the day for a Sweet Red Rose Hydrating Facial. Customers can also take their pick of a Tahitian Coconut Body Polish, Cucumber Body Butter Mask or a Cinnamon and Paprika Cellulite Treatment. Aveda Red Clover and Seaweed Manicures and Lavender Sugar Scrub Pedicures are also available.
Botox and ultra sonic peels to laser hair removal and mesotheraphy are just a few of the medical esthetic services provided. The Spa Vichy jets, which are the only ones in Maryland, are coupled with all of their body treatments and include color therapy and far Intra red, which is excellent to treat arthritis. Clients can indulge in the Tuscan Room which features a warm jetted pool large enough to seat fourteen people, a sauna and eucalyptus steam room before these services.
Each treatment room features heated beds framed by canopy ceiling coverings that create an environment that envelops the customer with a cocooning effect. All treatments are natural and organic and hand-made in the customized laboratory at Spa in the Valley.
"Both men and women are much more educated about how spa services can benefit their body, mind and soul," Nazelrod explained. "People are choosing to take better care of themselves, both inside and out, and spas are a natural extension of this trend. We are seeing an increasing male audience who understand that spas aren't just for women anymore," she added.
"We opened our first day spa in the downtown Inner Harbor area, but found our business mushroomed when we moved to the suburban setting," explained Nazelrod. "Our first location on Joppa Road exceeded our expectations and we now have an extremely loyal and growing following at our Perry Hall and White Marsh facilities. Hunt Valley Towne Centre provides us with incredible walk-up traffic in a lifestyle center and we can also tap into the nearby business base," she added.
