CRAZY JANE’S RESTAURANT PLANS AUGUST 10 GRAND OPENING AT TRED AVON SQUARE IN EASTON
With more than twenty-two years of food service experience, owner Steve Gordon anxious to apply proven theories at his own restaurant
Easton, MD (August 2, 2004) – After spending more than twenty-two years in the food service industry – from washing dishes to corporate sales to providing consultancy to struggling restaurants – Steve Gordon is anxious to try his methods and theories at a restaurant he can call his own. And, beginning Tuesday, August 10, Gordon will finally get that chance as Crazy Jane’s restaurant opens in 2416 square feet of space at Tred Avon Square in Easton, MD.
The 145,000 square foot shopping center is located at the intersection of Marlboro Road and the Easton Bypass (MD Route 322), and is currently 98% leased. More than 19,000 consumers reside within the primary trade area of the project.
“We’ve identified the restaurant concept that we believe is missing in the Easton area, in Tred Avon Square we have the right shopping center that can contribute to our success, and we have the necessary experience and background in the food service industry,” stated Gordon, who named the restaurant after his wife, Jane.
Crazy Jane’s is a “casual family-style” restaurant with the average price for breakfast averaging between $4 and $7, the cost for lunch averaging between $5 and $8 and featuring ten items under $12 for dinner, including certain entrees at a $8 price point. “Our entire environment will be geared to families, with Family Favorite entrees, and a seashore décor that will make both children and adults feel comfortable,” Gordon said.
Gordon cut his teeth in the restaurant business by holding numerous kitchen positions at BJs on the Water in Ocean City, and then progressed to corporate sales at USFoodservice. From there, he worked with restaurants to identify weaknesses in their food offerings, presentation, quality control or marketing and suggested ways to improve sales. “After successfully helping so many restaurants, I’m at the point in my career where I want to apply my proven theories to my own business. This is an exciting time for us,” Gordon said.

Gordon indicated that Crazy Jane’s has entered into a promotional partnership with Easton Premiere Cinemas for Wednesday specials. Starting in September, consumers can receive dinner and a movie for $19.95 per person or lunch and a movie for $11.95 per person.
Tred Avon Square is anchored by Acme Supermarket (44,600 square feet), Peebles (36,000 square feet), Jo-Ann Fabrics (10,000 square feet) and Easton Premiere Cinemas (9000 square feet), the only movie theatre in the Easton area.
