Wegmans Food Markets to Anchor Redeveloped Hunt Valley Mall

Wegmans Food Markets is an upscale supermarket chain that is known for its trend setting ideas in the one-stop shopping concept. Wegmans offers its customers a superior selection of merchandise and services. Wegmans is known for offering an unmatched variety of produce, an incredible array of fresh seafood, a bakery that produces fresh artisan breads and rolls daily and a cheese shop that carries a selection of over 400 cheeses. Wegmans Market Café features a wide variety of foods for take-out or in-store dining. Wegmans has 64 stores in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The store at Hunt Valley Towne Centre will be Wegmans first store in Maryland.
Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation, which acquired the mall in December, plans to begin demolition of the existing two story small store space at Hunt Valley Mall this summer and replace it with the 130,000 square foot Wegmans and an adjacent open-air Main Street that will be lined with upscale shops and restaurants. The existing Sears, Dick's Sporting Goods, Hoyt's Theater, Wal-Mart, Burlington Coat Factory and DSW will remain. Brian J. Gibbons, President/CEO of Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation, stated, "The addition of Wegmans to Hunt Valley Towne Centre will create a daily draw unlike any other retail tenant in metropolitan Baltimore and will serve as a catalyst for the retail and entertainment town center we are going to develop."
