Greenberg Gibbons Announces Three Promotions

Owings Mills, Md. (January 30, 2016) — Greenberg Gibbons, a premier developer of retail and mixed-use properties in the Mid-Atlantic, announced three new promotions within its corporate team. Jon Dewar has been appointed to Asset Manager while Alex Laperouse and Jeff Mitchell have each been promoted to Senior Financial Analyst.

As Asset Manager, Mr. Dewar will oversee the management of several of the company’s properties, including Foundry Row, St. Thomas Shopping Center, Reisterstown Shopping Center and Elsmere Square. Jon has been with the company since 2012, serving as an Operations Manager, then Property Manager for Hunt Valley Towne Centre. Before joining Greenberg Gibbons, he provided real estate construction and maintenance services under Dewar, LLC and worked in property management, residential sales and acquisitions for Equitable Asset Management, LLC.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Towson University and is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management.

As Senior Financial Analysts, Mr. Laperouse and Mr. Mitchell will play lead roles in underwriting and evaluating all new acquisitions, including redevelopment and development projects. They will also forecast property performance, monitor and evaluate loans, and prepare materials for lenders, investors and partners.

Alex has been with Greenberg Gibbons since 2013, serving as a property manager for Annapolis Towne Centre, the award winning mixed-use destination in Annapolis, Md. Prior to joining the company, he worked in multiple management roles for seafood company Paul Piazza and Son, Inc., and cold storage company NOCS, Inc. He recently earned a master’s degree in real estate development and infrastructure from The Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Clemson University and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Jeff joined the company in 2014 as a Financial Analyst. Prior to joining the company he worked for Morning Star, an investment research and management firm gaining experience underwriting national CMBS loans for all property types. He also served as a mortgage originator at PHH Mortgage. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers and CFA Society.
