Courtney Smith

Mr. Smith serves as Executive Vice President, Head of Asset Management and Leasing. He leads efforts to maximize the value, performance, and long-term positioning of the firm’s assets, leading portfolio-level strategy, overseeing leasing direction and negotiations, strengthening key tenant relationships, and advancing investor communications and reporting.

Mr. Smith brings nearly twenty years of experience in the real estate industry, including an extensive track record of acquisition and disposition transactions totaling in excess of $5.3 billion and 26 million square feet. Prior to joining Greenberg Gibbons, Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President, Investments and Asset Management at Washington Prime Group, where he led strategic asset management, cross-functional collaboration, and transaction activity for a national open-air shopping center portfolio comprising approximately $2.5 billion in assets and 14 million square feet.

Previously, Mr. Smith was Senior Vice President of Investments at RPT Realty, where he was responsible for the evaluation and execution of all transaction activity. Prior to RPT, Mr. Smith held various investment positions with Retail Properties of America, General Growth Properties, Jones Lang LaSalle, and JP Morgan Chase. Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from Florida A&M University. He is a former recipient of Chain Store Age’s 10 Under 40 in Real Estate and is a member of ICSC and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
