Senior Vice President, Director of Construction & Development
Mr. Allen joined Greenberg Gibbons in 2022 and serves as the company’s Senior Vice President, Director of Construction & Development. He plans and oversees construction of major ground-up and redevelopment projects, from initial planning through final delivery. He works with the team to assess and maximize development opportunities, and improve the company’s construction processes and financial performance using innovative methodologies. Allen has more than 30 years of experience overseeing development and construction management projects ranging from $20 million to $300 million. He previously served as the Vice President of Construction for Starwood Retail Partners, the fifth largest owner of regional malls in the U.S., leading multiple high-profile mall redevelopments and master planned communities. Allen holds the LEED AP BD+C designation, is a Certified Development Professional (CDP) and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and ULI Chicago Public Policy Committee. He received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.

  • Product: Development of a former Saks store (demolished) to new buildings for restaurants and retail. Renovation of 40ksf of existing building; 3 new buildings with exterior common area park. 10 restaurant/retail spaces; work-share space on redeveloped 2nd level. Build to suit 10 screen premium theater for Cinepolis. Demolition of 20,000sf of existing mall and build new 42,000sf theater. Build to suit shell for premium fitness facility, Equinox; new ground up 35,000 sf shell.
