Greenberg Gibbons Breaks Ground for $275 Million Village South at Waugh Chapel

Mixed-Use Development to Bring Wegmans & Target to West Anne Arundel County

Owings Mills, Md. (September 1, 2010) — Greenberg Gibbons announced today that it has broken ground for the Village South at Waugh Chapel, a 1.2 million square-foot, $275 million, mixed-use development.

The Village South at Waugh Chapel will incorporate retail, residential and office space in West Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  The lifestyle center will include 650,000 square feet of retail, which is already 75% pre-leased by tenants such as Wegmans, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and PETCO.  The development will also feature 125,000 square feet of Class A office space and 380 residential units, representing 450,000 square feet.

“It’s exciting to see this project become a reality, thanks to the financial support of our partners and Anne Arundel County,” said Brian Gibbons, president and CEO of Greenberg Gibbons.  “By bringing premier retailers to the area and creating more than 5,000 jobs, Village South will be a true community asset.”

The project will be located off of MD Route 3/301, which carries a traffic count of 70,000 cars daily, and will sit adjacent to the already successful Village at Waugh Chapel. The Village South of Waugh Chapel is set to open in Spring 2012.
