Owings Mills, Md. (September 15, 2016) — Greenberg Gibbons and Vanguard announced today that after five years of planning and development, Wegmans Food Markets will be opening a 109,000-square-foot store at Foundry Row, the highly anticipated new development in Owings Mills, this Sunday, September 18.
Wegmans is consistently rated the #1 supermarket in the United States. The new Foundry Row store is the company’s 8th location in Maryland and 2nd in Baltimore County, and will offer 65,000 individual products including more than 8,000 packaged Kosher items, 3,000 organic products, up to 700 produce offerings, 300 imported and domestic cheeses, and whole fish delivered daily and cut to order. It features a light and airy feel, an open floor plan on a single level, a Timber Room seating area in the Market Café, with high ceilings, rustic wood beams and a cozy fireplace, as well as one of Wegmans’ popular restaurant concepts, The Burger Bar.
Wegmans is one of the first stores to open at Foundry Row, the $140 million, 50-acre redevelopment of the site of the former Solo Cup Factory on Reisterstown Road. La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings and Décor, a 12,850-square-foot showroom featuring a wide range of furniture, home accents and accessories, is also opening this weekend, on Saturday, September 17.
“Five years ago, we promised to turn the site of an empty, abandoned manufacturing plant into a community asset and new gateway to Owings Mills,” said Brian Gibbons, Chairman and CEO of Greenberg Gibbons. “We are thrilled to deliver a sparkling new Wegmans to the community, and look forward to more great stores and restaurants opening in the coming months.”
Other retailers and restaurants coming soon to Foundry Row include Bar Louie, Bagby Pizza, LA Fitness, DSW, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, LifeBridge Health, and a variety of other local and national retailers, eateries and conveniences.
