Owings Mills, Md. (February 12, 2020) — Greenberg Gibbons announced today that Lidl, an award-winning, international grocer, has signed a lease for a 30,000-square-foot store at Reisterstown Shopping Center.
The new building will be located between Chick-fil-A and Planet Fitness. Construction is expected to begin in winter 2021 and be completed by spring 2022. This is Lidl’s third Baltimore County location, with others in Catonsville and Perry Hall.

Lidl opened its first stores in the U.S. in 2017 and today operates more than 90 stores along the East Coast. Lidl is committed to providing high quality, unique specialty products and an efficient, hassle-free shopping experience. About 80 percent of the products on its shelves are its exclusive private label, which to date have won more than 500 awards in the U.S. Additionally, Lidl was recently named a top three U.S. supermarket by Food & Wine Magazine. Lidl shoppers can expect to see low prices throughout the store, and a study from the University of North Carolina found that grocery stores near Lidl stores dropped their prices by as must as 55 percent on individual products when Lidl entered the market.
Greenberg Gibbons also recently announced plans to build a new 10,200-square-foot retail building at Reisterstown Shopping Center, which will house four new tenants: Chipotle, Mattress Warehouse, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Starbucks. The developer is also planning façade upgrades throughout the shopping center.
Located on Reisterstown Road and accessible from nearby I-795 and Route 140, the Reisterstown Shopping Center currently features a mix of national and regional stores and restaurants, including Planet Fitness, Big Lots, Chick-fil-A, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Dollar Tree and Walgreens.
